Makeda Declet is an actress and playwright who hails from Brooklyn, New York. She attended New York University where she received her BFA in theater, studying at The Experimental Theater Wing, ITW Amsterdam, and The Classical Studio. Acting credits include roles on VEEP (HBO), Bosch (Amazon), How to Get Away with Murder (ABC), Brooklyn Nine-Nine (FOX), and Switched at Birth (ABC Family).. As well as recurring roles on Being Mary Jane (BET) and Tyler Perry’s House of Payne (TBS).
Makeda has also completed development programs with Moving Arts theater as well as collaborations with EST/LA and the Echo Theater Company. She wrote and produced a web series called Just Makeda, a surrealist autobiography about a world in which alter egos exist and manifest themselves as puppets. She is currently workshopping her newest full-length play, Serviced, with The Ensemble Studio Theater, LA.
