HAMMER, was developed in 2017 with Moving Arts’ MADlab development program.  Based on the 1978 murder of a young actress in Detroit, HAMMER is an attempt to question black family dynamics as it pertains to economic fragility, mental illness and tyrannical storytelling.

The workshop production of HAMMER premieres this June at the Belfry Stage in North Hollywood. Hammer.brownpapertickets.com

Makeda wrote, produced and starred in a web series called Just Makeda…

It’s a story about a girl with an afro (Seriously, very important piece of information) who lives in a world where alter egos exist. Period. They’re loud, they’re obnoxious, and sometimes they’re the only thing keeping you from the brink of insanity. Stumbling through a new city Mak and her alter ego discover the beauty of taco trucks, group therapy in the form of Alters Anonymous and most importantly, that sometimes the best way to navigate this crazy world is to become best friends with, well… yourself! https://www.youtube.com/user/JustMakeda
